2023 - Week 37

The focus of this week at home was to get my main living area reorganized. As a full week was ahead of me, I knew I wasn't likely to get a lot more done, but just having my furniture in the right places would make me feel better about the state of Tiny Condo.

This started with purging the awful excuse for a gaming chair that I had for a bit. It was uncomfortable, the arms broke, and the vinyl on it was flimsy. Monday was bulk item day for this month at my building. I missed it the previous month and made sure not to miss it again.

Monday evening and quite a bit of Tuesday was spent on getting set up and though I was quite sore, I felt happy to be making a huge amount of progress. On Monday, I got my desk and seating into the living room. On Tuesday, I relocated my air conditioner to my new music space. I cleaned the windows in the living room (from the inside). I set up some of my music items in the music room. I wanted to do more, but my back was sore from lifting, moving, and working. Still, I fit in some laundry and a load of dishes because I didn't want to fall further behind on those.

I didn't uninstall the air conditioner yet because we are still having some warm days and I don't like having my windows open for long periods since I live close to the highway.

My new setup is allowing me to use the same chair for crafting, for work, and for gaming. I'm also getting more sunlight in, but have control over it, so yay for more Vitamin D a.k.a. the only "D" I want in my life ;)

Wednesday involved more moving stuff around, as well as a first pass at cleaning my outside windows. They need a second pass with something like vinegar to deal with the film from hard water all year. I also need to do the window on the balcony screen door, which I totally spaced on, but also didn't have the energy for. Also on Wednesday was the first meetup for my queer curling league. I paid my balance, signed up for the beginner session, and met my new Skip. He was really nice. I also caught up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while. Then I oiled my glove in advance of the last league game on Thursday.

The last game was a bit rough at the start, but we got it together. I even got a run in! Our first playoff game on Friday was against the same team. I was hopeful we'd do better since more of our team was able to make it. We lost, but that meant we didn't have to get up early, so we could stay later at the bar. But I couldn't run anymore. My shin splints got too bad near the end and I was given a runner. And I felt bad about it because so many of us were feeling pretty broken by that point and needed runners. It was so weird having someone else run for me, but I clearly needed it on Friday and on Saturday.

I felt like crying through much of playoffs because I had no idea when I would see my softball friends again since there are a bunch who don't curl and May is so far away.

After such a packed weekend of softball, I am mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially exhausted, but I loved it.

2024 - Week 5

It was still January for most of this week, a.k.a. The Neverending Month. Then it became February!  Each month, I do pull a card from my Music Oracles deck. Last month was Bob Marley. February's card is Nina Simone. A piano playing rebel & multiple genre legend will hopefully make for a phenomenal month ahead. I still haven't done a goals post for 2024. January was a lot. My goals for this year are: - Complete Sparker  and query agents. - Complete The Curse of...  and submit it to a screenplay contest. - Complete the declutter of Tiny Condo. - Blog at least once per week. - Cross train for curling and softball. - Learn piano. - Self-care with crafts, reading, gaming, and sports. I've tweaked my schedule to make this happen. I'd also like a partner, but I feel weird about setting it as a goal.

2024 - Week 43

Arts & Crafts  I started a summer quilt. I got the fabric a long time ago and it was a straightforward quilt as I just had to join the 20 fat quarters together. I'll need a backing fabric and a border to complete it, but I figured it's worth doing while the weather continues to be summery. I'm thinking a white backing and pink for the border. I've made progress on my Fairy Cross-Stitch, but there is a lot to go yet.  Decluttering & Minimalism I started the week by working on the space to sand my shelf. I didn't get through it all on Monday with work and everything else that day, but it was closer than it was before. Tuesday was curling, so I couldn't the shelf done then. I was really tired on Wednesday because I'm not used to curling being so late yet. Thursday was the last day of softball. It was Friday before I could really work on the shelf, though I kept working on the workspace. The packed weekend left me no time to do this, but I realistically ...

ROW80 2020 R4 - GOALS

I've gotten zero writing done recently, however, I had other pressing things.  HOME As my new bed frame was due for arrival last Friday (more on this later), I hauled ass and purged a bunch more stuff from my home. I brought a full carload to donation and started loading up again. I also dealt with my old mattress, which I'm repurposing for a couch. Now, I didn't fully complete it as I haven't figured out all the pieces, but I did get it cut up appropriately and moved out of my bedroom. I'm currently sewing it back together. As for my bedroom, I was able to do a major declutter and access areas I haven't been able to in months. But that area now has bathroom stuff in it. There is more to do, but I'm really happy with my progress of late. I've cut myself numerous times on the couch project including my heel finding a tiny piece of glass, my palm finding a wayward staple, my knuckle finding who knows what, my one thumb having a run in with a box cutter, an...
