Making Space

So I'm almost ready to start listing some large items for sale to hopefully get some space and cash back. Today though, I did some work on making my balcony a nicer space. I bought a little hand broom to clean up the dirt that got all over. I also got some large planters, which I hope one day will have plants in them. There seems to be a plant shortage for full sun varieties in my area. My timing is impeccable as usual.

But I did manage to find some cute little succulents for pots I already had and just this change has me feeling pretty happy.

I'm planning to make much better use of the space. I also got a yoga mat for working out there as I thought it could be a nice way to start my days. And I thought I could even use my little practice sword out there. It's a mini fukuro shinai, for those interested. Of course there is definitely going to be some reading, drinking, chilling, and maybe even some ukulele too.

This week, I got my tires changed finally and I went with a place that will store them for the season. So, I reclaimed space in my annoyingly triangular storage space. I was able to move a cupboard into there, which I will be using to get some tool storage out of my unit.

I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the larger items taking up a chunk of my already small living space. Every time I get something out of the condo I feel less burdened.

I think it's really important that I'm reclaiming space. It's important for my mental health. For far too long I've wanted to do things like read more and when I try in bed, I just fall asleep. I've also needed places set aside for relaxation that aren't full of clutter. Clutter just gets my mind thinking about a todo list instead of allowing my mind and body to relieve the stress of the day.

I'm so fucking excited about this!

2024 - Week 5

It was still January for most of this week, a.k.a. The Neverending Month. Then it became February!  Each month, I do pull a card from my Music Oracles deck. Last month was Bob Marley. February's card is Nina Simone. A piano playing rebel & multiple genre legend will hopefully make for a phenomenal month ahead. I still haven't done a goals post for 2024. January was a lot. My goals for this year are: - Complete Sparker  and query agents. - Complete The Curse of...  and submit it to a screenplay contest. - Complete the declutter of Tiny Condo. - Blog at least once per week. - Cross train for curling and softball. - Learn piano. - Self-care with crafts, reading, gaming, and sports. I've tweaked my schedule to make this happen. I'd also like a partner, but I feel weird about setting it as a goal.

Frisky Friday - Maple Syrup Porn

[caption id="attachment_10523" align="alignright" width="300"] Image created using Bitmoji[/caption] While delving into some Canadian film history this week, I learned that there is a thing called Maple Syrup Porn. I laughed when I read the term. I thought, "Is our adult film industry really called Maple Syrup Porn?" It's not. Some is Canadian, but it mostly refers to getting around censorship of sex. It was not only common in Quebec due to religion, but several places in the US. You can read more about it here . If you're looking to heat things up this weekend, consider a sweet old film from the early days of the sexual revolution. Maybe even drizzle a little syrup on your partner ;) Guid cheerio the nou, R~
