Well, maybe not entirely if my B-Movie Club goes with something shark related...

Okay, so I failed on that, but other things are progressing nicely. I've been boxing up my books and I'm going through the worst of the declutter effort right now. I decided all my books will live in my living room except those I'm actively reading. This is going to clean up my bedroom and let me repurpose the bookshelves in there for my music related goals and equipment. As soon as I can afford to, I plan to get two nicer all wood book shelves for the living room. They'll be tall and on the narrow side.

I'm basically cleaning my whole condo out at one time. It's a lot. Some days I feel overwhelmed. Mostly, each step brings me closer to what I want.

I've reached page 10 on my second feature. I'm planning to tweak my first one then send it out to someone I know.

I got some ideas about my novel recently, so I'm glad I'm not quite through the edit though those might be more applicable to other books in the series.

This weekend I read this article on LinkedIn. I stumbled onto it the day after telling a friend she's unfortunately experiencing envy from someone who seemed to go out of their way to be mean to her. I've experienced it a couple of times in my life though I've never understood it. Like it basically says in the article, it can be hard to be friends or lovers with someone who is in the same field as you because they can perceive your successes as times they weren't successful.

It's silly though. Why? Because even if I'm with another person who writes in the same genre, it doesn't mean much at all. Yeah, I write sci-fi and fantasy, but my sci-fi is far from hard sci-fi and my fantasy is way more urban than it is high fantasy. Every little difference like that means the markets I need to send my stuff to are different than the markets my friends or significant others would send to. My horror as well. I write on the softer side currently, though I'm working on getting darker with each one I do, but I like having some lighter elements in it. Someone else may be doing slashers and another might be working on heavy psychological stories, so it's not really me they would be in competition with.

Regardless, I think we should all just support each other and be happy that more people are reading.

I'm enjoying the writing course I checked out of the library. It's making me think about things on a really deep level.

Anyway, I'm slowly getting my ducks in a row. I'm not completely sure where I'm taking them once they're aligned, but I bet it will be a fun adventure.

Mostly, I’ve been planning for the new year, but I discovered I know Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was a recollection under the influence that brought this to light. Merry Monday - Lots To Do And Little Time To Do It In

The colleges are still on strike. We had 21 days that had classes in my program prior to the strike. We've had 18 days worth of strike where we should have had classes. The strike has been longer than that for most students. I don't have Friday classes nor are any of mine on the weekends. I slowly plod on because I don't know what else to do. I watch videos on YouTube from the greats like Syd Field. I read my text books, though I could be doing more of that I suppose. I work on my assignments. I've been working on the first act of my feature film script, but I realized that I have other assignments that were due before that one that I should focus on instead. Merry Monday - A beautiful day for taxes

It seems like I have Mount Everest ahead of me, but I'm just going through the list one at a time. I've gotten a couple of things done and some started. Renovations Before the weekend, my new kitchen floor was installed. After the credits that Jiffy gave me, install cost less than $40. The old floor was light grey peel and stick tile, which was peeling itself up on the edges. Because I couldn't get all the glue up from the floor underneath the peel and stick, I needed to put new floor in. Oh, I started peeling it up with a hair dryer. I really don't recommend that. It doesn't get hot enough to work well. It was taking around 20 minutes each tile with the hair dryer. With a proper heat gun, a couple hours for the whole floor.
